Recent Win 1:
"I got your back" - Saw a motion to extend time that was denied via email on a Friday afternoon at 4:16 PM so that my client attorney did not miss a deadline to file a document with the court.
This may not seem like much, but it certainly could have been a very awkward conversation with the client on Monday as to why that document was not filed and the case was dismissed...
Recent Win 2:
Motion to Dismiss denied: Wrote the brief in response to a motion to dismiss and motion for attorney's fees that was filed against my client attorney. The court ruled in my client attorney's favor and denied the Plaintiff's Motion to Dismiss Counterclaims and for Attorney's Fees.
Recent Win 3:
Conversation with a client attorney about becoming an independent contractor with his firm. I asked, "why me?" He said: "Because I want someone competent."
In a recent credit card debt case, I successfully defended a client being sued for nearly $1,000 on an original debt of only $500. By filing a strong motion to dismiss and effectively advocating for my client, I negotiated a settlement for the original debt amount and secured a manageable payment plan through the client's debt consolidation company. This outcome allowed my client to resolve the lawsuit and regain control of their finances.
As a freelance attorney/legal consultant, I do not always find out what happens after the project is finished. But I have amazing attorney-clients who appreciate my work and let me know about the "wins" when they occur.
Recent "Wins"
In a recent victory, I helped a legal consulting attorney-client successfully defended a managing member of an LLC in a breach of contract lawsuit where the opposing party sought to pierce the corporate veil and impose personal liability. Through persuasive legal arguments, I helped my attorney-client secure a motion to reconsider, This win underscores my commitment to helping my attorney-clients protect the interests of their business clients and ensuring their client's legal rights are upheld.
I aided an attorney-client's successful defense against an application for a preliminary injunction in a complex employment contract and non-compete dispute. By providing my attorney-client with key legal research and drafting a persuasive brief, my attorney-client was able to secure a favorable outcome for his client, preventing the imposition of restrictive covenants that would have hindered their professional endeavors.
